>If it can be invoked in different locations, what's to stop rapid-fire invocation over short distances, equivocating to teleportation?

And? It's still not going anywhere by itself, unless a Brunestud is willing it to go these places.

>equivocating to teleportation?

Pray tell, what is so ambiguous about teleportation?
equivocating

equiv·o·cate

\i-ˈkwi-və-ˌkāt\
Function:
intransitive verb
Inflected Form(s):
equiv·o·cat·ed; equiv·o·cat·ing
Date:
1590

1 : to use equivocal language especially with intent to deceive 2 : to avoid committing oneself in what one says

>Maybe, maybe not. Massive chain tentacle lashing would be an excellent combat method.

That would be really, really awesome, but the chains do not work that way.

>It probably has other gimmicks, but giant-robo-castle just seems too far out.

Not really. There's far more wacky shit in Tsukihime. You want a moving BATTLE FORTRESS? You'll get one. Having the castle uproot itself and move on two legs, fighting with two hands and an array of siege weaponry is the epitome of a moving BATTLE FORTRESS.
And you can't tell me that the enemy wouldn't brown their pants right away upon seeing that happen.
