Kaotan is another underdog story.

She was neglected my management and was never going to get promoted. She solved those two problems by

a) showing she didn't need management, she could just promote herself on Google+. She made her own videos showing backstage moments with other SKE members. People started paying attention and eventually she gathered more and more fans.

b) choosing to become honorary kks for life. She protects kks, is like a mentor for them, takes care of the kids and promotes them.

She comes off as a hardworking, honest and determined idol that made it to the top with her own strength.

And Tani is flawless.
