4 months rn. im not fluent and when i speak japanese verbally i have a stutter and i can barely read. im not a role model or anything lol..

i used yomichan to reverse search kanji in my browser, then wrote them down in my book with their meanings. every time i see a word that ive already learned and forgot i draw a big frowny face next to the kanji to discipline myself. the other tool thats really helpful is chatgpt. it is fluent in japanese and english and will help you with your mistakes. that being said, the way ive been teaching myself leaves me very uneducated in some of the japanese manners and culture. this is okay for my goals because i mostly just wanna communicate over the internet, but it wouldn't be okay for most japanese learners.　彼女はお前の母　：）. but ahh, doing the best i can :D
>how much anime have you watched raw and with jp subs?
i have to go very slowly to absorb it all and replay it many times, so i havent seen too many shows that way. I self translated spy x family amd frieren and im working through monogatari. but one episode can take more than an hour to really absorb because its past my level and i need help on a word by word basis.
