I stopped years back due to attacks on /e/. As for me, my purchases appear weeks after comiket (due to shipping) as either new items or to replace low-qual "zero-day" scans. The cancer that stopped Hong Meiling and some other collectors were these jerk ideological conservatives (republicans) bringing ideology into 4chan forums. They demonize social welfare on 4chan. They say no spoonfeeding, don't thank those who provide social welfare (scans, digital uploads, gleaning, organizing), and shitpost community-oriented posts. That approach began in earnest around C76 and came to a head with C81.

Conservative demonizers are cancer on 4chan. They are changing 4chan's culture over the past years into being less helpful (community is communism) with their ideology. All too many ignorant 4channers jump onto the bandwagon.

Now, many of us just keep our purchases or trade scans amongst ourselves. Hey, social welfare is bad, right? Many of your doujins are now based upon chinese raws (japanese --> chinese language) so translations from those are jap --> chi --> eng. I could have uploaded but you guys hate social welfare, but gallery credits at e-hentai don't induce me since I donated and have a zillion more hath than I know what to do with. Some still scan purchases and fill bounties, but others stopped after the silent majority didn't defend us for providing social welfare scans and uploads.

The ignorant can just spout "/pol/ get out" but that creates ignorance and defeat. That's because it silences defense of social welfare scans/uploads but it doesn't silence or repair negative effects conservatives created. Conservatives keep on demonizing anything they see as liberal such as the uploaders trying to help the community with social welfare.
