When where you confident enough in your Japanese that you actually felt comfortable telling your friends and family that you were learning it without looking like any more of a useless weeb than you already do? Or have you still not told anyone?

Does anyone else have trouble "thinking" in Japanese when reading kanji? By that I mean I'm fairly good at remembering the concepts and actions kanji represent but have difficulty reproducing the actual moonspeak. For instance I can recognize almost instantly that 女 means girl/woman/female but it took me a good thirty seconds or so to actually remember the the pronunciation and by extension the hiragana spelling of おんな. Has anyone else have this problem? Are there any exercises I can do that could help me "think" more in Japanese like, for instance, reading aloud, or is greeting understanding just a function of overall time spent studying?

Why are you now complaining about crossboarders when /v/ were literally the first ones that found out about Kizuna, then brought her to /a/ and finally ended up in /jp/?
