This is a lot like I design planets for various scifi campaigns. The only things I'd argue is stuff like sense of scale and lattitude affect geography a ton but don't get a mention, and that he's obviously based it on deductive logic of an area that's been civilized and settled for thousands of years, which is an independent thing from tech level.

Take the great plains for example. Just about the best cereal grain farmland in the world, but two hundred years ago it was still just like the african savanna. And the african savanna is STILL the savanna.

Also on the sense of scale, with towns app. 20 miles apart, then that entire map is only about the size of Iceland. It's pretty tiny.
