>sometimes you have to make a shot at ground level
Damn... You're right lol... I only recently got back into taking photos, so it didn't cross my mind to go that crazy with the angles, but it makes sense...

>Im not very versed with Doll events, only dolpa, what is that one you mention?
(Me neither I only just casually lurked these threads before) But yeah, I-Doll was for a variety of doll types and accessories. Dolpa is the one I was referencing, I just forgot the name.
>You went with your doll and took pics next to other dolls from japs?
No, I don't own a doll (yet). I like taking photos and looking at photos of them. I don't know if I'd ever own one.

Here's a little photo of the event. We technically weren't allowed to take pictures of the venue itself (devilishly broke that rule here hehehe~), but it was like this with the left side of the venue being split into several hundred booths and the right side having tables you can rent with your friends people affiliated with your brand/group/circle/company etc to promote your work like in

and so on.

>Did you feel welcome or out of place?
Both really. I know what you mean with the twitter bubble thing yeah. The Japanese are terminal twitter users and they've constructed an entire culture around it. But if you present your dolls or accessories or whatever to them earnestly and seriously they would 100% accept you.
As for the event, basically I'll never not look ridiculously out of place at almost any otaku-ish event since I'm a very tall eastern European guy (the event was probably 70/30 female to male ratio), but people are more often than not happy to see foreigners attending these events. I didn't have a single negative interaction and if you demonstrate any Japanese knowledge (like complimenting the wig or asking if a certain part of the outfit was custom made) the more extroverted ones would instantly infodump you happily.

Like this girl was very happy to tell me about her custom made wigs and kept telling me to take more and more printouts (she was pretty cute too, so I was kinda shy and kept my talking short and simple because I'm not that confident in my Japanese yet FUCKFUCK UFCKFUFKC)
The golden rule is learn Japanese t b h.
>Do you travek a lot or live in JP?
I'm still fresh off the boat, but I live and work here (3 months lol).
>Please take pictures
Of course. I've been practicing with my camera a lot recently, so hopefully I'll have less failed shots this time. As long as there isn't bad mixed lighting, I can provide!
