That is the thing. Strength of will is immensely important, but not everyone has it.

Some people will never have it. I have been dealt bad hands by life, have sweated and cried and bled like any other, toiled in the ground, and yet I have not allowed anyone to push me down, because my mother did not raise me to be fucked around with by people.
She did not suffer almost unendurable pain on the operating table just so that I could lie in my own feces and cry about how life is hard and people are mean to me.

Subsequently, many good things have come my way through the opportunities I have taken, and I am always in complete control of my surroundings. I retain calm and confidence even in the face of adversity, and generally succeed at what I put my hands to, even if the first few times I fail at it.
