Yeah, but whether or not you'll have a better experience with the VN depends on what you disliked about it.
The anime is disliked because it's rushed and omits many things that add more depth to the characters, which are the very core of Umineko. Plus the art and animation is very lackluster, but what people usually bring up first is the pacing.
If you disliked the premise or couldn't stand the very basis of the characters' personalities, then you might hate it just as much.
