Monsters have a overall love for humanity in general, but that's not to say they are incapable of mean or jerkish behavior, some more than others. It seems unlikely they would intentionally inflict any major emotional harm on someone who didn't deserve it too.

We do get some examples of what monsters do to humans they don't like. Crow Tengu simply avoid them, night gaunts may drop them off in swarms of monsters to be ravished, a mucus toad will force a woman who insults her or her husband to ingest her mucus, etc.
