Newby here. I had my first day of a Japanese language class that a local college provides, but I have a problem.

I don't know how to actually study. I graduated with a bachelor's about 2 months ago and I'm going to Japan in August, but I've never had to study in my life, or I have and wasn't aware of it.

So how do I study Japanese exactly? The guide doesn't really say. Anki is simple enough but what else? My teacher gave us phrases, months, letters, colors, etc, and I've learned a lot of the hiragana, but how do I study this shit? Do I just keep reading aloud these phrases until I can recall them in my sleep?

There's tons, but most of them get pulled away from /jp/ onto actual fanbases/sources/places that aren't shitholes.

Like, if you've got a functioning thing going on here, why not just go somewhere where people will enjoy that content and not hang around a shitposting taiwan cartoon girl board? There's no reason to stay with your project on /jp/ and deem it as a /jp/ project because it will fade away in an hour or more because /jp/ is now /vg/ - anime style.

I understand that the whole "I don't want fame" kind of shit might be brought up, but why not just enjoy what you're doing and also distribute it to people who will enjoy what you did?

Why are the Japanese so superior?
