Yep. USS Sealion launched a brilliant attack; emptied all six tubes. Two hits on Kongou, and a third just missed her and hit the Urakaze (destroyer) on her far side; it nailed a magazine and the ship was blown asunder, went down with all hands. Kongou limped along for a while but the flooding finally claimed her.

Incidentally, it's one of the only WWII torpedo attacks to have been recorded on audiotape. The (very poor quality) audio recording is still on the web, somewhere.
