Not too fond of Futsuu no Fantasy as of yet. The meta jokes (like pic related, people repeating lines, demons having over-complicated yet ineffectual plots, the unfairness of heroes having infinite respawns, etc) would be funny if I hadn't seen them parodied in countless webcomics already. So far there is little fresh material, at most I can think of is how it's shows in detail the maou's mindset when he does stuff like flip his mantle dramatically which is fresh to read. What's really killing even that for me though is that the MC is pretty much a stereotypical teenage *Japanese* boy, not very Maou-esque really which really makes it hard to get into the story and jokes. Someone said "Futsuu no Fantasy's plot is so predictable and rote from the get-go that it's only hope is to have funny gags carry the game". As of yet, this is not the case, which is leading me to rely on lust for the red-head to carry me which is never a good thing for a non-nukige as far as I'm concerned. Well, that and a desire to see the scene where Jei reveals himself to be the maou to the heros, I bet that'll be interesting.
