If that's the case I'm the exception that makes the rule. Got into fate through the deen anime in 2018, watched all of them, watched/read some other TM stuff and finally read mahoyo because of a friend who recommended it. Honestly I'm already the exception for having read mahoyo before fsn and tsuki which I've still not played. (just read the manga)
I made another friend get into fate, he went on to read the VN but refuses to get into anything else unfortunately. Didn't even read HA for some reason.
