I just want to take a moment to warn you that the rest of the story is awful. Like, seriously, complete trashcan. It is basically Protagonist Wish Fulfillment: The Story. I looked it up and read it myself some time ago, and was disappointed to find those archived posts are basically the diamonds in the rough

Like, those posts? I just couldn't help but be intrigued because the author genuinely brought life to an otherwise abstract ability: the power to manipulate one's subconscious. The protagonist's mind is literally being unraveled by her. It's just marvelous to read, and frightening to think about how someone could be reduced to something so.. base

But yeah, the rest of that quest thread? Absolute trash in my opinion

ZUN has been consistently very good with stage 5 and 6 boss themes. Stage 6 was especially hard to pick. I decided on Nuclear Fusion because it feels particularly epic while suns are being thrown in your direction. I also consider "nuclear stuff" to be a harder theme to match music to than vampires or ghosts.
