Day 5, 20 new cards a day
Nearly every kanji so far has a completely different reading/pronunciation when putting another kanji or hiragana character next to it.
I am baffled at how anyone is supposed to memorize, much less retain 2000+ of these symbols with seemingly random pronunciations.
Took me an hour yesterday, and I expect to have almost a hundred review cards tomorrow.
Fuck me.
