I've dealt with overlapping before, but never seen stuff get cut off the screen on my end. Maybe your font size is too big? Anything above 18 looks odd to me. I just screwed around with the font size and distance until it looked okay, then adjusted the window width as necessary so that the text doesn't wrap around. Though I did notice it'll look weird if you change those settings and select 'save and restart' instead of just saving and closing the game manually. Here's the settings I use if you wanna look. Seems my clock is slightly closer to the edge than yours.
