Well after having been in isolation for 8 years between age 17-25 my 'Misaki' came along. It was virtually the same thing as in Welcome To The NHK. She thought she could 'fix' me. I made the mistake of marrying her. She lived in the UK at the time and if I hadn't I never would have lived there, then later moved to Australia with her. The whole thing lasted 7 years. So I went from hikiki to traveling the world. In addition to the life experience, I got a lot of sex whereas I'd have otherwise likely died a virgin as my J-counterpart may well do.

Among other negatives, I ended up homeless in the end as I'd foolishly given up my only source of financial independence to be with her (I had to). I spent 1 1/2 years homeless in Australia. Not on the street, I was in a rooming house but that's bad enough.

Somewhere in the midst of all this I spent time wandering around Australia aimlessly and confused looking for some alternative to the rooming house (I didn't succeed). I had little idea of what I was doing. I only got home in the end as my pride broke down and I asked my dad for a plane ticket home (not cheap).

I don't think it's realistic. The relationship I had was unrealistic enough but even though it happened wasn't worth it. I left my house once, look what happened. I can't risk it again for something that likely will not last. Also, I cannot be this girls Misaki since we are both 'Satos.' That was the main attraction, not oneitis but that she was virtually the female version of me in more ways than the NEET aspect. I would have been her friend even if she were male, only I wouldn't have wanted to screw her.

I tried to get close to her actually, I thought I'd start by being gaming partners. But, even the avatars on MMOs freaked her out since actual people were behind them.

I'm not much healthier than her really, only slightly. Enough that I can usually fake normal.
