Hypocrisy could be seen as a form of impurity, but only if others knew of it. Shamefully, the mistake lies between me, Doremy and the sands of time: I, Sagume Kishin, interfered with events on Earth, lending the powers of my sacred tongue to mere mortals—whether they liked it or not, it’s of no concern—altering the course of history forever. If I were any other person, there wouldn't be a trial, only fervent calls out for execution, but alas, why do so? Why, after thousands of years, do I position my pure reputation and unrelenting gathered faith on stake…?

My gaze shifts to the first word of this entry in my private diary, and a sigh eludes me. I may judge those around me and be perplexed by their fervent interest in the storylines unfolding at the heart of this puzzle, the HSE, but now I realize I was just as prone to losing myself in the convoluted yet fascinating nature of human and Youkai reactions to the most bizarre situations—a teacher destroying the status quo and, in doing so, destroying herself and all those who believe in her—the ultimate test of fire? A woman of many sins, redeeming herself through sheer willpower and thus wielding power over a magician of many mistakes who discovered unprecedented strength to build a future; A child struggling with past and future, torn between hedonism and the path covered in nails that is called change of self, a demon constantly lullabying the many traumas of her life; A secret goddess and her madness; a lost woman in her own world of lies; a slave tormented by all facets of her life; and more...

Yet, the one that moved me beyond the restrictions set over thousands of years ago and made me commit a sin nigh cardinal was the cursed child, Hata no Sekai.

How to describe, how to describe…?

… True purity, that’s it.

A hideous amalgamation of the worst Terra, Earth, and its many names can produce; of infinite sets of quality and no distinguishable mental, with attachments too powerful; of cunning like the edge of a knife, but tainted by a childishness that makes me want to yell at every line and action she has—I do not, of course; the thought alone is dangerous—all those traits combined should have made her spitting image of impurity.

It did not.

Somehow, she, the picture of impurity, is one of the most beloved aspects of the calamity that brews down on filthy Earth. It has gotten so bad that one resident of the Luna Capital has tried smuggling themselves to Gensokyo just so they could imprint their echoes on Sekai and so claim her as a resident of Luna. Preposterous! Simply insane!

But after what I did, who am I to say anything?

Still, the idea of seizing the powerhouse that is the unborn goddess child has evolved from whispers to propositions, primarily for our own safety.

… It'd take Junko one step inside the HSE for Sekai to inherit her pure hatred against our race, and so make the strongest goddess that's yet to live our nemesis…

Sighing, I close my diary with a nod of denial. It's an unrealistic assumption at best and downright paranoia at worst. Junko has no interest in the HSE, so we must be safe, yet the trepidation lives in people's minds since the whole of Luna Capital stopped to bask as Sekai battled her two mothers. It sure has made the issue of investment in the happenings down below way worse…

I should go have a walk, even if it's Wednesday, in accordance with Terra's calendar; the stress is getting the best of me.

Leaving my house to the vibrant and clean streets of the Luna Capital, I play in my mind's eye a game: how long until I— “Shut up, you know it's unrealistic!” Yorihime yells, gesturing with fists closed—almost trembling—to her sister, the two women responsible for our defenses, displaying flushed cheeks.

“It is not; happy endings are not unrealistic! I do believe Sanae will survive her confrontation, Keine will revive and together they'll destroy the evil—”

“Ah, c'mon, that's such a pussy ending!”

—hear someone discussing the HSE. Record time today, it seems. Though something feels off between the sisters…

“Gah, you're always like this!” Yorihime continues the banter, her expression livid and brash. Rabbits and other residents stop to stare. “Why can't you accept that the earthlings are stupid and will get themselves killed?! You don't want to see the important characters die; you don't want to see any rape scenes; and thinks all should end in rainbows and roses! Do you hate fun, sister?!”

Toyohime, offended, struck back with a pointed finger towards her sister. “You act as though I am the issue, so why do you find their suffering so enjoyable? I know why: you are a bully, sister, even using your influence to make the media stop airing stories you find uninteresting!”

What…?

“Shut up, you're the same!” Yorihime looked at her wits’ end. “I know you've been bribing them to focus on the fluff and cutesy stuff rather than the nitty-gritty!”

H-Huh?!

The Watatsuki sisters…

… Why…

Why are they taking this so seriously?
