But "Character X and Y fight because reasons" stuff is both overdone and requires the artist/writer actually remotely know what they're doing/talking about, or it just ends up looking a bit stiff and awkward.

Besides, powerlevels and such is exactly what Touhou ISN'T about, by rule of the freaking setting itself.

Also, even as somebody who likes Meiling much more than Sakuya, I sincerely do not think Meiling even stands a chance in a proper fight between the two unless Sakuya is holding back so much she might as well not even be there.
