It won't be "over." It'll plateau but it'll still have followers. I honestly can't wait because all the casuals will leave and the only ones left will be the ones giving a shit.
As long as streaming is a thing, there will be vtubers because it is a great way to protect your identity. Look at all the high profile streamers getting stalked and harassed. We're only at the crossroads but soon there will be vtubers with no real life pre-persona.
