it's been tough on /jp/ lately with summerfags, 3DPD, vtubers, crossboarders and newfags who are flooding in from cancer that is twitter and reddit.
actually it might be twitter and reddit's death that might be the cause why low quality posts seem like they belong in different boards. like that one anon said they think every board is the same on this website

It's funny how you guys are so obsessed with America and the west in general that you think Japan is so influenced by it. In reality Pixiv has been meaning to do this for a while.
In western media spheres we're drop fed jap art and memes but a lot of discourse gets left behind because a lot of people simply can't read Japanese. You know when your fav artist just fucking deletes everything and leaves? If it's not people reposting it's usually fallout between them and other users and they pull no punches. Western artists get nasty with their headcanons too but it's the same in Japan. Cyberbullying is becoming a hot button issue there and I bet a lot of this is essentially a big list of "falls under" harassment policy in case users complain.

I know how to get the games beyond moriya and I don't watch yukkuri let's plays so I find this all rather inconsequential

I could study Japanology at my university for free, but I can't be bothered to apply.
