You forgot the most important point; It doesn't have MOE and UGUU anime girls on the cover.

Things are different now, but I remember pre-release just about everyone on /vn/ was going, "It doesn't have cute anime girls so I won't read it xd"

Which is a shame because, even though I personally prefer moeblobs, the art style is perfectly fine in its own right, and many of the sprites are quite beautiful. It's just a different style.

Not at all comparable since Umineko has technically shit art that look like the doodlings of a child. Fata has technically proficient art that look quite good. Though I suppose they are similar at least in regards to both having art that don't initially appeal to the general visual novel audience--much of which is accustomed to noseless insect girls with balloon titties.
