Shinki is Lucifer, not the satan.

There's two interpretations of the satan. One is the incarnation of all that is not right with God's creation (otherwise known as 'evil'), the other is more like God's incriminating agent who manages those with free will (and prosecutes those who act against God).

Lucifer is a rebellious archangel who fell from grace, and is neither.

It only depends on if you are worshiping the "dominant" god of that Heaven. Sure, you can worship Loki (the not-quite-harmless prankster Loki, not the siege-Asgard-cause-Ragnarok Loki), but if you're not paying proper homage to Odin, you're rather unawares of the ranking system. Lead deities must take front seat.

It's a bit odd how those four (five with Yuka?) tend to be described as the "old" touhous, rather than simply as the elders of their houses. Overall there are quite a few that are of similar age or older, but have a "youthful" position socially.
For example, Komachi (old as time), Shikieiki (aeons old), Suika and Yuugi (at least 1600 years old), Aya (at least 1000). It's soon 3am, so have a feeling I've forgotten someone really obvious.

Nah, Greek scientific method espoused the belief of rationality over empiricism. They thought the rational behind things was more important than actual experimental results, thus got it ever so slightly the wrong way round.
