What's up with Japanese and sunflower fields?

Kohaku has the best ending, and is the best character. A maid that is not a typical maid: she smiles all the time and obeys what you say, but, if you can see past all your boyish fantasies, you'll find a girl that has been screaming for help since childhood. Will you be selfish enough to ignore her pleads for help?

I feel a bit of regret now, though. Ciel route was intense, but finishing the game after the best route, admiring a smile almost as brilliant as the sun over a sunflower field is simply priceless.
