Rorona isn't hard in the traditional sense. It's hard because unless you are using a guide it's unlikely you're going to know what you need to do if you are attempting the 'true' ending on your first attempt. Hence the suggestion that Rorona is at least a 2 playthrough game. First is to just kick back and enjoy the game and characters for what it is, then a second run to nail as many endings as possible.

There's a huge number of character events and special events which occur under certain timing conditions that you need to hit if you want to have enough time to get the 'true' ending.

The Astrid/'true' ending is 'difficult' only because it's so darn stressful for the first 2 years when you're trying as hard as possible to make sure you have enough time to complete all of the events. One of the character events for example knocks them out of the game for 80 days and they need to come back for you to check off the 'all clear'.

Most of the game is just pure common sense. Try to synth items in multiples where you don't waste parts of days, don't accept/attempt requests which cost too many days to synth or complete. Make every trip to gather materials as productive as possible and don't be afraid to burn some cash if you can save time.
