Why do we condone the abuse of teenage girls?

Imagine you were this regular little girl and you were taken from your parents at a young age because the spirit of an old warshipm somehow lives in you making you more apt at fighting in a naval war.

So after a few years of training you are now anywhere from 12-15 years old and they want to send you off to war to literally fight monsters reincarnated or not... Zombies some could say, from the seas deep...

Kids literally out there fighting wars. I said it years ago and I'll say it again... the back story of this series is messed up or its too nebulous for us to understand.
