Old lore time.

When PekoMiko Daisensou came out, Pekora live watched Bohemian Rhapsody, a movie about the world's most famous gay singer and musician, that night. Miko was in the chat for that stream. They also had a aggressive skinship during the sponsored 3D collab for the game the song was made for, to the point that it seemed like it was specifically marketed for flirty couples. They had the sleepover offcollab not long after and even Marine was making jokes that they must have fucked. Then the Pekora vs Cover mengen freakout happened, where she accused Cover of getting in the way of what the fans want. PekoMiko vanished off the face of the earth as this was happening. Cover had a lot of incentives to stop PekoMiko: It invited taboo knowledge, pulled both Pekora and Miko away from their own gens into a distinct cell (Miko especially spent very little time with her own gen), two of the top holos being in open relationship would kill their "availability" appeal to gachis, and perhaps even invite some kind of public morals scrutiny. As for why it went all the way in the direction of them ignoring eachother, Pekora and Miko were probably making things as awkward as possible to protest Cover's decision, or Cover's demands were simply that strict.

Keep in mind that PekoMiko was so fucking big at that point that they were even cameoed in comic LO of all places. The PekoMiko song is lame as fuck but was a huge success purely off being the first real PekoMiko song. Both of them have the professionalism to get along on screen even if they did have some kind of personal dispute, especially if there were more sponsorships asking for them (there definitely were, Cover rejected them). Both remain staunch anti-male holos to this day and dodged Holizontal. In that recent stream where Pekora talked about being the same as unicorns, the specific example she gave was when she was oshi-ing a female idol, being possessive toward her and resentful to a male performer who she thought was aiming for her. MiComet is much less overtly gay than PekoMiko was and is persistently called a "business relationship" in a thinly veiled and self aware fashion, and Pekora still doesn't have a new mainstay collab partner like Miko used to be.

Also Miko eating rabbit in minecraft was always meant as a sexual innuendo.
