I'd say the sword is significant in Meguri as well. Much in the same way as it was in Sotsu.

Eua brings the sword up as another loss condition for Satoko, which is true, but more importantly it also opens up the possibility that Rika could permanently die and leave Satoko looping alone forever. A scenario Satoko undoubtedly wants to avoid, and probably found unthinkable since she seemed unfazed by the sword's existence. I also assume the two loss scenarios would have different outcomes for Satoko. On top of those, Eua (or Hanyuu) could possibly be attacked with the sword to some effect. It seems quite significant to me.
