/jp/ - Otaku Culture

I'm doing an Anthropology research project and you bet your rootin tooty I'm doing it on J-Idols/AKBG. I've got 2/3 good enough academic sources (island of 8 million smiles, Idols and Celebrity in Japanese Media Culture) but I've got no idea what my research question should be.
I've got to write something focused around some sort of research question. The main focus of the class is on food in relation to culture, but the thing I've been interested in/concerned about is gender roles or something concerning Debord's Spectacle and I wish Naachan didn't cut her hair.
Can anyone help me figure out some kind of specific research question?
