Does FFXIV use a class system like FFXI did?

God I want an evolving class system, I hate just

>ha ha now you are that class forever and will do the same things forever from level 3 onwards

I can't even play MMOs like that for 10 levels. FFXI's advanced job system is such a great incentive to play on.
