I was part of that discussion and wrote about the second one.

The second one involved both the husband and phoenix always being born nearby to eachother, slowing growing towards eachother as they got older and always falling in love with eachother.

They would live normal lives and as they slowly grew older, their previous lives would slowly return in occasional flashes. Only when they reach an elderly age they will remember their previous lives clearly, offering them a chance to reflect on the past and look forward to a new life with the comfort of knowing that they will always be together.

If either the husband or Phoenix dies early, then the other will rapidly decline in health and die too shortly after, after which they both get born elsewhere and the cycle resets. I remember somoene posting a little greentext about that too.

It would in my opinion be the most interresting and unique way to approach the Phoenix as a Monstergirl.

I never really thought about it before, but I guess you could think of the Will-o-the-Wisp as the Yang to a Phoenix's Yin.

They both persist for eternity. The Phoenix through reincarnation, and the Wisp as a spirit.
They both bestow that power upon their loved ones, wherever it's reincarnating with them, or taking their soul and staying with it forever.
They both have a fire theme going on. Phoenix is red, and Wisp is blue.
The Phoenix has nonhuman arms, whereas the Wisp has nonhuman Legs.
They have relatable imagery and symbolism. The Phoenix is a bird, able to fly free, but the Wisp is contained within a cage.

Interesting to think about.

I don't mind this wonderland fruit thing, but I think we've got to balance it out with something else, too.

Something like phoenixes. The monstergirl you can experience childhood friendship and an adult relationship with, over and over and over again.
