Usually dark mages are of the creepy woods-dwelling kind, what about a noblewoman kind? Some haughty (towards humans at least) spoiled girl that got a bit too interested in magic, maybe combined with her being a bit of a mamonoboo. Presumably she ran away from home (either just left or they found her a bit too monster-sympathetic) I like the idea of her witnessing a Lescatie type scenario, meeting a lilim and wanting to become like one (in terms of power at least) and becoming a massive fangirl of the lilim. I like the idea of being her boytoy she drags around while she travels around the world looking for more power.
