Ah, for me that's how it started. You get used to it and I have recently discovered how they do the eyes.

They actually just cut holes in the black at the top of the anime eye. This is a great example. I must admit I wish there were a better way of doing it as this lost some of the magic for me. I mean if I ever saw one at a con that's all I'd ever notice.
