Proof that in the original loop Kimiyoshi managed to outsmart Keiichi and murder both him and Mion, the people he see standing in his way to saving the village and to take Satoko back and not have to worry about Sakiko ever finding out Keiichi is actually her father. Look at how angry and frustrated he looks when his father tells him to just ask Keiichi to save the village to beg. His pride as a man is already shattered stuck in a loveless marriage arrangement with Satoko due to Keiichi wanting someone to take care of his daughter while he becomes a politician famous enough to save the village.
