Going from before Saku, I sometimes wonder about what the relationship between Rudolf and Asumu must've been, the way the VN hints at Asumu being more sly and cunning is something I like to believe is mainly due to Kyrie's negative perception of her. I like to believe that only Kyrie was as obsessed with Rudolf as she is and that most girls Rudolf stole the hearts of in his teenage years weren't nearly as obsessed, including Asumu, the fact that they're described as such can again be interpreted as Kyrie's own obsesiveness and biases speaking. Rudolf presents himself as a cocky old prick but in reality, his dialogue really makes it clear he bears a lot of self-hatred and guilt for the things he does but he's simply unable to stop; like most of the family he' believes he's too deep in to feel like he can change in life, which is why he, like most of his siblings, eventually moves on in death in the golden land where they all can let go of their wordly relations and ambitions. I like to think Asumu was much more capable of soothing Rudolf's pain more than Kyrie ever was. Just some food for thought
