It's a clashing of the old and the new. SE has had trouble satisfying both camps until arguably the new FFXIV came out last year. Not sure if XV can keep the ball rolling.

I do miss the old Squaresoft days. Definitely a lot more experimentation going on (Live a Live being one of them. A short yet really good JRPG.) and not just being stuck in the "comfort zone" like where they're at right now. I blame the FF movie.

Still playing Live a Live. I'm now in the Bakumatsu chapter. If I didn't have a walkthrough, I would've ragequitted at this point, so many damn secrets.

In other news, Rei is waifu quality.
