>I've been tempted for a few days now to look up the kind of owl that has ears (or tufts of fur that resemble them, I can't remember which), because I think the personality for an owl girl would be hillarious.
Lots of owls have ear-tufts! One of the ones I find particularly cute is Blakiston's fish owl (bubo blakistoni - one of the largest species of owl). The long-eared owl (asio otus) is less fluffy, and has tufts that look much more like ears. The striped owl (asio clamator) is also pretty cute, and some of the scops owls (i.e. otus bakkamoena, otus lettia) are too.

I've actually been working (idly) on a set of bird-inspired girls in the past couple of months... but I don't even have a remotely coherent sketch of the owls, so have some tits instead.
