I'm only getting about 10% reduction using hardware reencoding with no visible loss in quality. Software is too slow and will make my poor machine blast on full power for hours for a single file. And even then I calculated that I only get about 25% reduction; I have not played around with the settings too much though as it is too slow anyway. Care to explain to get proper results for 1080p? Are you using Handbrake and hardware reencoding?

I'll keep hoarding VR titles for now, as they play nicely with hardware reencoding (about 50% on average without seeing a difference in quality).

Using VideoToolBox (Apple Silicon) on Handbrake btw.
