If you seal the head first using a good sealant, pretty much yeah, just keep practicing. As for curvy bodies, what you want is a Dollfie Dream Dynamite (DDdy) body -- though I believe the bust in this photo is something custom-made. You can find custom-made doll parts on the aftermarket, but they can be pricey.
