Well, it did.
The whole conspiracy angle was alright, and Wizard being able to handle himself was fine. He'd often encounter Gensokyo natives and be all "holy fuck that power's ridiculous are you serious." Strong, but balanced.
Then he walked into SDM, completely trounced Patche's and Remi's ass, in a row, without much trouble, and at the same time it turned out that every single major player in Gensokyo was in on it and he was gonna fuck them all up. That's dumb, really dumb, and is exactly how NOT to handle a crossover story. Thank god it went on hiatus soon after.
