Does anyone know how the doujinshi making process works? How much do they cost to print, or distribute on sites like Melonbooks and Toranoana? I'm wondering because one of my favorite artists that I spoke to about an artbook he made for C84, actually put it up for sale online soon afterwards. However, I asked two other favorite artists of mine awhile back if there was any chance I could obtain a copy (digital or physical) of one of their books they previously sold, and they said it was impossible. One of them told me that he didn't even have a digital copy of his own book. I even offered him 20,000 yen for a digital copy but he said he still couldn't help me. So, why exactly would they not have it or be able to distribute copies after the event they were previously sold in anyway?
