yes brushes are for stroking and not blotching. i'm a little used to paintbrushes, not so much cosmetics, but it seems the manufacturing of brushes is largely the same between the two. what picrel is better for is cutting into dried cups of makeup, we don't need that for loose powder. although nylon seems more heavily suggested for applying creams than powders at least it won't develop this jagged edge property.
