It's too hard for me know where the dissonance between me and the current state of the boards came from. I know I'm far from the only person who thinks they've gotten progressively worse as years go on, but I've also gotten progressively older. I'm sure there are plenty of people across the boards these days who are half my age. At the same time, I've never been very fussy about board quality, the testament of such being that I'm still here. I have been browsing much less recently though.

I've always thought of /jp/ of as "old /b/ 2.0" after seeing what happened on the board after the split cooled off a bit. Some people surely loathe this mindset, but it's great for me. /jp/ may not be quite as entertaining lately but it's still alright.

In the end, I've never taken any of it very seriously and I still hang onto that attitude, even if my grip is a bit shaky now.

Also I have no idea when I got here, I've got a file named 1055133825145.jpg but I'm not even sure 4chan was open then and I'm unsure if I knew about futaba yet back then (probably not) and moe.homelinux.net used a different file name structure (20030628012941.jpg etc). It is a mystery.
