Guys, i'm new here. I know literally nothing about it, but im really interested in Touhou. So...could some of you guys tell me what exactly is Touhou and everything?

So I bought myself a notebook, because I'm only at home on the weekends and travel around a lot by train and thought that I could play some touhou. But the keyboard doesn't seem to like me. Whenever I press the shoot button flying up left and down right doesn't work anymore, it only goes left and right, making it extremely difficult to play. Same happens with some different keys and as long as I don't press them everything works fine.
Has anyone made similar experiences or knows something that could help me?
