This is from total net gain of resources in 24hours. For example 6 gives 2880 baux but costs -468 fuel and -540 ammo so its earnings drop to 1872.
No subs used and at least 5 boats sparkled. If I employed subs where appropriate the gap between 5 and the rest would be even greater. TE's value comes from its compensated chance of having great success and infrequency of sparkling required. They are also the number one choice for steel if you need it for LSC. 6 is horribly inefficient but the only good source of baux.

I have a excel spreadsheet documenting the various setups but the most efficient one is 5/21/37 which nets you 7346 fuel, 12245 ammo, 4006 steel, 472 baux and 1900 furniture coins. From observed trends, ease of acquirement goes ammo (2, 5, 21, 37) > fuel (5, 21, 38) > steel (37, 38) > bauxite (6).
