The other reason I like adding Hikohohodemi's story to my headcanon is that, in the original story, he's just human, while in Touhou, he's obviously a lunarian.

Which gives me a lot of... dunno, "place"? Levy?
I'm looking for a word meaning that there are several possible interpretation for an event.

I mean, if in Touhou, Hikohohodemi is a lunarian, and if he's human in the original story, it basically allows you to imagine whatever the hell you want. Like he's an exiled or something.

And, yes, trying to make sure from mythology is tricky.

That doesn't explain why people are constantly whining about how awful the storyline is when the actual games certainly don't provide better. I rarely find canon Touhou dialogue funny other than Inaba, but at least the Stardust Reverie=sweet part made me laugh.
