I was shuffling through DI and KKK videos on Youtube and in retrospect the more I think about the latter the worse type of cocktease the whole game feels like. Was it really necessary to block out all the old arias from Dies Irae with that unintelligible noise/text while reasoning that it's language from the old world and therefore the protagonists' minds can't comprehend it?

I mean, it's not like anyone had any trouble figuring out who those characters were supposed to represent. After listening to the unblocked ones it seems Light actually went out of their way to rerecord the same lines for KKK and it feels such a waste they're never used properly. Many of the important battles ended up being bit of killjoys when you're not hearing what they're actually saying and the game still pretends that it's being subtle about it. If you're going to be pulling on my nostalgia strings then you better do it all the way.
