There's a very clear difference between idolfags and western cancel shit. With idolfags you know their rules and you know ahead of time what kind of audience you will be attracting. Idolfags won't attack unrelated parties who have nonothing to do with idol culture. SJW's are invasive, they force their values onto different cultures and people outside of their circles. They also change their rules, things that were ok until recently are suddenly not and if you were unaware of that they don't care. While they haven't caused any shit with hololive so far, they're an ever present threat in any form of entertainment

Niji is throwing shit at the wall to see what sticks, for every successful niji there are 20 DOA. Cover is focusing on existing talents and expanding the existing fanbase by creating frequent events that give talents opportunities to attract a large crowd. Hololive rotates events so every talent gets a place in the spotlight, but introducing more talents would create daily anniversaries which would lead to staleness, previous month was already pushing it. Nijis have veteran members who have yet to have their 3d debuts, much less dedicated lives, original songs or albums. Oversaturating the market also hurts branding. A holo that debuts will eventually get an opportunity to collab with Pekora or Aqua or Marine or Korone as long as they stick around. A niji that debuts doesn't might never get similair opportunites so their initial growth is stunted and they get stuck. The holo brand is stronger because of that, following new members is worthwhile while a niji only becomes relevant once they're a big shot. This leads to competition which could lead to quality control but it also hurts potential talent. Popularity is really hard to predict and you never know when someone is going to explode. Korone's meteoric growth for example propelled the whole company forward, while in niji she could have been smothered before ever getting her moment to shine. Holos rotate in popularity, which makes nurturing them worthwhile on top of that the stronger synergy due to smaller numbers means everyone goes forward once someone starts rising
