I disagree honestly, at least for the MC. Ignoring the fact that it's extremely slow to learn it's skills compared to everything else, it falls short of a lot of the better classes(the better masters/persona users in general/devil hunters). The MC's transformation options all kinda suck resistance-wise too. It is very versatile skill set-wise, and that's the selling point I suppose. Random generic tuners are better though, since you can get much better resistance sets on them.

Eandom characters make better tuners than most named characters. The resistances of the overwhelming majority of unique shifters(including the MC's options) are utter dog shit so you are better off getting a random. For example I'm working on this random who got a rangda as her transformation. I have another who has Tiamat and she has better resistances than most uniques too. Just have to spend the time rejecting randoms until you get "powerful bloodlust" or "overwhelming bloodlust" for the higher level ranges.
